Maxwell 16
Commercial house: Promega
Unit: 1
Location: Room 312
The Maxwell 16 Instrument System allows you to save time without sacrificing consistency and purity. With automated nucleic acid and protein extraction, you get reproducible yields at the push of a button from every operator and from every sample. With Maxwell® 16, you can use a single instrument to extract DNA, RNA or protein from a broad range of sample types – from blood to mouse tails, and almost everything in between. Whatever your downstream assay, you can count on Maxwell® 16 to provide superior purity and yield giving you confidence in your result. In addition, the robust system design avoids common problems associated with other automated extraction systems, such as clogged tips and partial reagent transfers. Most importantly, there is no detectable cross contamination between samples. The Maxwell® 16 Instrument System provides everything you need for nucleic acid and protein extraction, including pre-filled reagent cartridges, specialized disposable plastics and easy-to-understand instructions. The automated system reduces the number of hands on steps and turnaround time, increasing throughput. The Maxwell® 16 System speeds front-end processing, enabling you to do more tests faster. And, the instrument is compact so it can fit into virtually any laboratory.
How to use it in our laboratory.
- Please contact the Genomics Facility for first time use.
- Book online to use the equipment.
- Users are requested to bring their own tweezers, pipette and tips.
- By default, the hardware is configured to extract DNA. If you wish to use it to purify RNA, contact us at least one day in advance.
- The waste is toxic therefore it must be removed and stored in the user´s laboratory until withdrawal.
Maxwell RSC 48
Commercial house: Promega
Unit: 1
Location: P2 micro (1st floor)
The Maxwell® RSC 48 Instrument provides walk-away automated nucleic acid extraction from a variety of sample types. Using prefilled reagent cartridges and preprogramed methods, Maxwell instruments deliver fast, reliable and consistent DNA and RNA purification, along with the flexibility to process the number of samples you need, processing anywhere from 1 to 48 samples per run. In addition, it has an intuitive software and integrated vision system for detecting and preventing deck tray setup errors.
